“Data protection serves to protect privacy; It is intended to prevent data of a personal nature from being intentionally or unintentionally made public. Because released information takes an irreversible path. Once it is made public, it cannot be taken back. A denial usually makes such indiscretions worse, even if the information is false, because it creates the impression that someone has something to hide.

Data protection is legally stipulated in the Federal Data Protection Act (drafted in 1977, fundamentally revised in 1990, supplemented in 2002) and must also be observed by anyone who processes personal data using a PC. There are data protection officers at federal, state and company levels. The measures to be taken include: the control of access authorization, users, data storage, data carriers and data transport.” [1]
